History of the Language :
Sanskrit developed from Proto-Indo-European languages and was used to write the Vedas, Hindu religious texts written between 1500 and 500 BCE. For several centuries, Vedic Sanskrit was orally preserved as part of the Vedic chanting tradition, predating alphabetic writing in India by several centuries. Sanskrit was the Hindu community's classical literary language. The language's earliest examples can be found in Vedic religious texts. The language was used in the sacred Hindu text Rigveda as early as 1800 BC. This early manuscript was written in Vedic Sanskrit, a northwestern Indian dialect.
Origin of the Language :
The Hindu religious texts, the Vedas, were written in Sanskrit. Vedic Sanskrit is the most ancient Hindu script, having been compiled between 1500 and 500 BCE. The Vedas include hymns, incantations, and theological and philosophical guidance for Vedic priests. The four major collections are the Rig Veda, Sam Veda, Yajur Veda, and Atharva Veda, and are thought to be direct revelations to seers among the early Aryan people of India. (These are spelled differently depending on the source, for example, Rig Veda or Rigveda.)
